all over him at 6/1? no, I don't see 14pts improvement since the Open. if I had to take a shorter price it would be Dustin

Rors price is course form only. I'm all over him tbh, whatever DUMP says
Jordan SMITH is my 250/1 each way shout. Expect nothing this time, but he'll make me plenty more in the next few years

who to avoid, hahaha. Mcilroy looks a lot happier with his chum carrying his bag but his price is blatant piss taking from the bookies
one who stood out when watching the WGC event at the weekend was ZACH JOHNSON. he's a really good ew bet

There is a difference between being compelled and having the option.

At first I thought that he would be compelled to return to the tee and play again, as his third shot, but that is only the case for hitting out of bounds off the tee.
No it's not.
In golf at any time, you have the option of returning to the location of your previous shot (under penalty), to play from there again.
Speith could have chosen to return to the tee, but didn't.

Fair credit to Matt Kuchar for taking it so well and showing tremendous professionalism. These pros know the rules and use them to their advantage. I don't think it should take that long to sort out though and there was talk of them getting put on the clock. Why Kuchar? He didn't do anything to slow play up. The best example I ever saw was Dustin Johnson who was in the rough once right next to the fairway. You could not see the ball but he called an official over and said he wanted to hit is three wood out of it (no chance) but a TV tower was in the way. They gave him a free drop on the fairway and he then proceeded to hit his three wood over the TV tower with a bit of draw and he hit the green. Sly old devil DJ.

need a rule change. Play it or drop it within 2 club lenghts only. Would speed things up massively too, think that all took around 17 mins, which can't have helped Kuchar.

All credit to Speith for knowing the rules and using them to minimise his disadvantage. At first I thought that he would be compelled to return to the tee and play again, as his third shot, but that is only the case for hitting out of bounds off the tee.

yes, a few hours on I can't blame him for making the most of the rules, his quick thinking and taking the ball on to the driving range won him was a momentum shift, but I think something has to be done where a situation is improved that greatly when that far off line. shooting five under over the next four holes was unreal but the damage was done with that ruling, even though it was legal

You can call the ball unplayable wherever and however it lies. Even on the green if you wish. Only the player, and no one else, can call a ball unplayable. What happened on the 13th today doesn't sit quite right with me though, with the drop and the time it took, but the rules officials seemed happy

Yep,
the main reason I stopped buying Pro V1s, was costing me a fortune on a bad day.

Time to change the rule and make them drop within 2 club lenghts only. THey get too many breaks compared to the Sunday golfer, hitting spectators, trampled down lies, relief from stands etc etc
And why not grow the rough longer and reward and punish, between straight and wayward shots. That's what links is about with no water features to test them.

Amazing golf by Speith after his dalliance with the rough and the practice range. Kuchar looked like he didn't know what hit him as Speith decided to take the piss out of the course.

Yeah I don't really get people calling speith a choker. Bloke has 3 majors and is only 23.
Nerves like everyone, but he's not someone like Fowler (and kucher) who really does choke.
